How Are You?

It's been a while since we've played catch up so I'll try to fill you in on what's been going on around here.

Peter and I are still working on our eco-friendly home. We are hoping to move in shortly after the new year begins. I'll also have a studio in the house so I'll be able to write, sing, produce whatever, whenever. We're compiling a website to share all the environmental info so if you are interested in an idea or product, you'll know where to find it or how to do it.

Our joy of moving into our home is bittersweet when I realize how many people have been left homeless by the recent tantrums of Mother Earth. We're trying our best to be part of an eco-conscious rebuilding program that'll provide healthy homes for those in need. Promise to keep ya posted.

On a more pleasant note, I feel so fortunate that one of my closest friends is now also my production partner. He is warped (no wonder we're friends) and freakishly talented. Gabriel Moses and I have been developing the career of a beautiful, talented, interesting teen named Ashley Johnson. She came down several months ago for another round in the studio and you're going to be blown away when you hear what she did! We're ready to shop her a deal in January, so we'll keep you posted. You can join Ashley's email list if you click her name on the Midnite Sun Records home page. Soon you'll also be able to hear samples of several things Gabriel and I have been working on.

The Days of Our Lives Love Songs cd was so well received. Thank you so much for your support of the project. It was a pleasure to work on it with the Days folks. If you have a moment and would like to post a review, please visit Amazon.com. The CD will also be available on CD baby very soon.

My sweet friend, Holly, gave me a book called "Excuse Me, Your Life is Waiting" by Lynn Grabhorn. It's an incredible instruction manual to help a person maintain positive energy and focus. I know we can all use + energy from time to time so I highly recommend it if you like a good read. If not, I'm sending you a giant positive zap just for the helluvit anyway!!

Live Well!

Hello

My thoughts and prayers go out to the families whose lives have been turned upside down by the devastating weather we have been having. This has been horrible for so many people. We have seen some people show their greed and the dirty side of humanity. We have also seen (once again) that we are capable of compassion, selflessness, courage and strength. We, for the most part, are giving and thoughtful whenever there is trouble. Mother Earth has shown us who's boss--we have to respect that, learn from it, gather together and help each other move forward. It's going to take time, patience, will and thoughtfulness to rebuild the "worlds" that were destroyed but together, we can make it happen.

On a much smaller, humble scale, I understand the desire to have a home again. Kelly and I have been building our home for quite some time now. We can't wait to finally move into our house but we have to take our time so we make healthy decisions. We're trying to help the good folks on the Gulf Coast live in a healthier environment by getting some Eco Prefab Homes into areas hit by Katrina. Eco Prefabs will be made of products that are friendlier to Mother Earth and healthier to live in. I'll keep you posted on that.

New Orleans has a special place in my heart. It's the first place I went outside the studio to tape DOOL. I had only been on the show a short time and really didn't know how people felt about Bo & Hope. The welcome we received when we walked off the plane was literally life changing. Kristian and I have that moment seared in our memories. People were so warm and enthusiastic. I don't know how Oak Alley fared in the hurricane but I am trying to find a break in my taping schedule to get down there to find out.

New Orleans is an important part of Bo & Hope's history. It's also an immense part of America's finely woven tapestry and must be carefully restored in a manner suiting its importance. This restoration will take a long time so hopefully a year from now, whenever, we'll still be as conscious as we are now of the people who need our help.

Speaking of helping others, I appreciate your questions about dyslexia. There are several types of dyslexia and the kind I experience usually kicks in when I'm nervous. Small words such as it and the suddenly don't make any sense to me. They become little blobs on a page. I've learned to memorize pages of dialog by making what's on the page important to me. What's the story? How do I feel? I've said it time and time again--it's like playing cowboys and Indians. The imagination is a wonderful-powerful thing. That's why I love my job so much--I get to play Bo Brady, who is a cowboy in his own way. I don't know if it will work for you or your children but give it a try. If anything, you can share an adventure in Pretendland for a while.

Happiness--Peter
